The JKDA has incorporated an "Instructor's Development Program" in order to train and groom it's most talented and dedicated members into JKD instructors. We feel that being a JKD instructor under the JKDA is a privilege and a responsibility, and we do not give out instructor's licenses (aka "Certifications") easily.

One must meet certain criteria and requirements before they are licensed. The instructor candidate must have an advanced or senior practitioner status in the JKDA, have a good understanding of the principles and techniques of JKD, be of high integrity and of good character, and must be able to personally train with Professor Dill in some capacity such as seminars, camps, or personal classes.

Our JKD instructors are expected to train harder and longer than they did when they were students, for they have a responsibility to the JKDA, Professor Dill, their own students, and to Bruce Lee and James Lee to be as good as they can be.

After one becomes a JKD licensed instructor, and start signing up students, they are then issued a school charter which completes the validation of their teaching under our JKD training program.
