Mission Statement
SDS Combat Systems is a training program whose mission is teaching empty hand combat and weapons (non firearm) to military personnel and specialized government agents. The spectrum of training ranges from pain compliance neutralization techniques to complete termination of the opponent.
Combat Systems (CS) is based upon Jeet Kune Do (Bruce Lee's street combat martial art), Aiki-Jitsu (grappling) and Bushido Kempo (weapons and extreme empty hand techniques). The focus is on "stand up" type of fighting rather than attempting to take the opponent to the ground. CS is geared for the reality of combat, void of any ritual or sport aspects, CS techniques are simple, practical, and effective. The CS training program is developed to be easy to learn, easy to teach, and has a high memory retention for the practitioner.
CS training is based upon a set of "core techniques" which serves as a basis for the development of the intermediate and advanced phases. We feel that it is far better to master one technique than to know ten and master none.
The CS Basic Phase consists of learning the core techniques such as stance, footwork, punching, striking, kicking, and grappling. The Intermediate Phase develops the utilization of the core techniques in weapons defense, breakholds, ground combat, and gun disarms (pistol & rifle). The Advanced Phase addresses the aggressive use of weapons such as the knife, baton/ASP, machete, and improvised weapons (belt, shirt, helmet, entrenching tool, etc).
The Combat Systems training program is set up for an average of 60 hours of instruction, but can be modified to fit the needs and mission of the client. All CS instructors are personally trained and supervised by Gary Dill, CS Chief Instructor, and all have several years of martial arts teaching experience, with many also having law enforcement and/or military background.
